The Morningscore metric will change to the SEO Score
In december 2025 we will release Morningscore 4, bringing a bigger focus on GEO (optimizing for AI visibility), increased tool speed and higher data quality
This will be the biggest release ever. We have worked on it since May.
With the release of Morningscore 4, the Morningscore metric will be replaced by SEO Score
Why this change?
- We are now measuring both SEO and GEO. So we need 2 metrics
- The keyword engine powering the Morningscore metric has been greatly improved
What is different? Does SEO score measure the same?
The diference is the calculations and the data of each keyword.
So yes the SEO Score measures SEO value in any currency just like the Morningscore does, but the engine under the hood changes, which leads to a new data.
What improved in the new keyword engine?
- The short version: Everything. Data freshness, AI impact, click estimates, CPC values (click prices) and search volumes for all our millions of keywords.
- We have worked hard to get the best data. In early tests we now have the most accurate click data of any SEO tool (tested against Google Search Console and Ahrefs)
- Click estimates for all keywords now reflect how Google works in the AI era, where click rates vary more. For example, research keywords and commercial keywords get different % clicks.
Changes to data displayed under "all keywords"
- We now only show keywords ranking top-20 on Google in the SEO Score table to keep it about performance and give you a count of keywords you can set goals to increase
- All 0 search volume keywords are filtered out for same reason as above
How will this impact my data history?
- We will recalculate all your historical Morningscore values (including competitors and in all markets)
- We do this to give you a chance to compare your historic performance with the new engine
- Reports will keep their original Morningscore values. To be sure to keep old data, you can export them to PDF.
