Morningscore is showing a wrong URL for a keyword
We often hear from users in the chat that a "wrong" URL is displayed for a keyword.
What this typically means is that a different URL is shown than the one the user believes should rank and has attempted to get ranked.
Morningscore always displays the best-ranking landing page at the time of the most recent keyword update.
There are two factors to consider or investigate:
When was the keyword last updated? Hover over the keyword's "rank" to see when it was last scanned. If the data is outdated, adding the keyword to "[tracked keywords](https://morningscore.io/rank-tracker/)" can force an update (keywords added to the rank tracker are updated daily).
Is the "correct" page well-optimized? Objectively, is it the best result to show users for their query (search)?
If the data is not outdated, it simply means Google considers another page more relevant to show users than the one you think should rank.
Here are some tips to try to get the "correct" page to rank higher:
Add more internal links to the "correct" page using the keyword as anchor text.
Analyze the top-ranking landing pages (competitors) to understand what type of page (category, product, blog) and content they use. This reflects what Google considers relevant for users.
Make the current best-ranking landing page (the "wrong" one) less relevant for the keyword by removing the keyword from its headings, page title, and internal anchor text links.
Add an internal link from the "wrong" page to the "correct" one using the keyword as anchor text.
Acquire more backlinks for the "correct" page.
