How often are keywords in the rank tracker updated?
Rank tracker keywords
Keywords added in the rank tracker are updated based on this logic:
Ranking position | Update frequency |

1 - 20 | Daily |
21+ | Every 3 days |
No position | Every 3 days |
No position (stale - after 3 consecutive checks with no ranking) | Every 7 days |
Explanation
Top rankings (1–20)
Keywords that rank within the top 20 results are checked daily. These positions tend to fluctuate more and are usually the most important for SEO monitoring.
Lower rankings (21+)
Keywords ranking outside the top 20 are checked every 3 days.
No ranking detected
If a keyword does not appear in the top 50 search results, it is also checked every 3 days.
Stale "no position" keywords
If a keyword has no ranking for 3 consecutive checks, it is considered stale. At this point, the update frequency is reduced to every 7 days.
This system keeps our subscription prices very competitve while giving you daily freshness where you need it, in your top-20 rankings.
All keywords (not in rank tracker)
These keywords are not updated daily. We generally strive to update these within 90 days, where some sites will see much faster update frequency.
What you can do to increase how fast we update these keywords:
- Add to rank tracker for daily updates (click the plus icon to the very left in the table)
- Connect with Google Search Console
